Professional Background

G.L. Traylor has spent more than four decades in the criminal justice system — first as a patrol officer and SWAT team member with the Dallas Police Department, then as a Senior Criminal Investigator at the Dallas County District Attorney's Office for 20 years, and now as a private criminal investigator and licensed forensic polygraph examiner.

His 20 years at the Dallas County DA's Office gave him deep experience across Misdemeanor and Felony Trial, Child Abuse, Organized Crime, and Family Violence divisions. He worked in cooperation with municipal police departments and state and federal law enforcement agencies, managing approximately 100 cases per year.

Since 2005, Gary has operated G.L. Traylor Investigations & Associates, assisting criminal defense attorneys with all aspects of case management, trial preparation, witness location and interviewing, and forensic polygraph examination. He holds a Polygraph Diploma from the Polygraph Institute, accredited by the American Polygraph Association.
